I was home bound last week but was happy to leave the house for a few hours for dinner. I’ve heard about Singapore House from my partner but was never quite keen to try it out given I was born and raised in Malaysia. The rivalry between both countries never ends and over the last couple of years it has revolved around food. Naturally and I’m not being biased, Malaysian food wins hands down. With that in mind, I was rather reluctant to give Singapore House a go. Plus the flavours are probably localised to suit the local palate. Nevertheless, I ended up in Singapore House last week and was pretty happy.
I was really impressed with the ambience. It was a colonial setting and I am a sucker for anything colonial.
We ordered the banquet menu given there were four of us. Typical Asians, we love having a variety of spread.
- Fish cake
- Steamed prawn dumpling
- Salt and pepper tofu
- Roasted pork in Hoisin sauce
- Lamb ribs
- Barramundi fish curry
- Butter chicken
- Stir fried vegetables
- Rice and naan
